QLD Poker Machine Tender #45 Open
By Steve Gagel, Director of Business Services and Taxation
Ladies and Gents
Was not expecting the July tender to operate in the current Covid environment but we do have an open tender for machines in both the Coastal and Western Regions, being:
No supply in the South East Region is interesting as there is plenty of pressure on operators with the shutdown of the hospitality and tourism industries. Would expect the November tender will have a pool as some operators attempt to keep the wolves at bay. Will be interesting to see where the Coastal region lands as the last tender was completed in April 2019 with an increasing market – would expect the down turn in tourism will hit this region the worst so expecting subdued prices. The Western Region has 14 machines left over from the last tender and another 19 put into this tender – again see good buying in this region with demand not meeting supply
- Nil South Eastern ($181,000 in tender 43) – NO AUTHORITIES FOR SALE
- 14 Coastal ($57,489 in tender 41)
- 33 Western ($16,500 in tender 44)

Queensland
Casino policy was expected back in October 2019 by the Queensland Government
and uncertainty continues to impact on investment decisions in both pub and
club sectors in relation to the sourcing of authorities from the current caps
(expected to come from the Club sector). Will be interesting to see how the
market reacts when this position is finally released. Still no news on the Qld
2020-2021 Qld State Budget, this position remains totally unclear at government
level.
If you intend to bid in the Pub Tender, please ensure you have lodged your completed form (along with the lodgement fee of $55) in the tender box (facsimile, post or email not acceptable) with the Public Trust Office, Ground Floor, 444 Queen Street, Brisbane prior to 5pm Wednesday 15 July 2020.
